San Bernardo Blue Mosaic Vintage Argentine Seltzer Bottle, 1 Liter

A vintage Argentine soda siphon in blue glass, c. 1920s–30s, from the San Bernardo sodería on Corrientes, the avenue of theaters and tango in Buenos Aires.

The glass is molded in a mosaic of panels, row over row, down to a faceted base. Lithographed lettering runs around the body, a method used before soderías began molding their names directly into the glass.

Blue siphons that keep their original color are increasingly hard to find. In sunlight, this one throws its color onto everything around it.

It holds one liter.

Original glass, hand-restored in Buenos Aires. There is only one.
